From the East ...

Brethren,

As autumn approaches and we prepare for our return to Lodge, I hope that each of you had an opportunity to spend time both in nature and with your family. During the break, Ionic held its annual Officer’s Retreat to discuss long-range planning, membership, and other concerns for the upcoming years. Special thanks for RW Bro. Singh for his hospitality in offering the use of his home, not to mention the fantastic spread of food that was the combined effort of all in attendance. 

Also over the summer months, many Brethren had the opportunity to attend the Annual Grand Lodge Communication. Grand Lodge is a wonderful opportunity to meet Masons from around our Grand Jurisdiction, and around the world, and discuss issues that are common to our fraternity.

This year at Grand Lodge, MW Bro. Thomas W. Hogeboom was installed for the ensuing 2 years. As well, RW Bro. Robert Sullivan was elected and installed as DDGM for Ottawa District 2. I look forward to the year ahead under these distinguished Masons.

Now that the warm weather is passing, Ionic continues to be busy in the months to come, and I thank the Brethren of Ionic, in advance, for the support I know they continue to provide. In our upcoming September meeting, we will be balloting on some new Masons and holding a Lodge of Instruction. Our Emulation of the 1st degree, having been so successful, we have begun preparing an Emulation of the 2nd Degree this year, so watch for more information as seating will be limited.
